REVUE COVER REVEAL!

WARNING! *Please look away if you no longer require your ovaries*

COVER REVEAL!
I’m so excited to finally be able to reveal Revue’s cover.
…Hello? Are you still with me? Yes, focus on the words for a second longer then you can let your eyes wander 😉
Revue is set for release on May 29th. I don’t have a pre-order set up as of yet, but if you follow me on Amazon (link below) you won’t miss it when I do upload it.
http://tinyurl.com/KM-AmazonPage
You can, however, add it to you tbr list on Goodreads right now by clicking this link: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/25126823-revue

A couple of things before I get to the synopsis: I want to say a huge thanks to Shannon Robinson for agreeing to be my cover model. He did a fantastic job and really captured my vision for the photograph. Oh, and he not only was the muse, he took the photo as well, being a very talented photographer.
Secondly, I want to thank TJ Hamilton for ‘telling’ me she was going to play with the photograph. I was like “Whatevs, if that kind of thing floats your boat. Go ahead”. However, the next thing I knew was she played with it so much that she created a cover. Just.Like.That! So thank you very much, Snot. I FLOVE it!
And lastly, thank you, Melanie Sassymum from Book Empire Promotions for organising the cover reveal. xoxox

Okay, now that my Oscar award spiel thingy is over, here is the synopsis:

He was on a collision course.
… I had paved my way
He answered to no one.
… I respected authority
He wanted me.
… I despised him
He didn’t take no for an answer.
… NO!

When freelance photographer, Corinne Lee, is required to visually document the nationwide tour of Wild Nights Male Revue, she finds herself in a world of near-naked, testosterone-fuelled men on stage—not her photographic muse of choice. She also finds herself in the arms of Josh, the revue’s star performer.

Josh Adams thrives on the limelight, the stage and, most of all, the attention of women who endlessly throw themselves at him. He dances sex, speaks sex, breathes sex … is sex! Josh lives for sex, but never with the same woman.

When both opinionated and headstrong characters are closely thrust together in a lust-ridden and sexually-charged environment, which of the two will break first?
Will Josh realise that Corinne could be the exception to his ‘no strings’ rule? Or will Corinne let go of the fantasy of finding Mr One and Only?

DISCOVERING STELLA TO BE PUBLISHED BY HARLEQUIN BOOKS AUSTRALIA

Yesterday, in my Facey fan group, I promised I would deliver some news. It’s big news, exciting news, good news … and just a little bit bad news. Oh, and just so you know, I’m delivering said news behind the safety of clear Perspex in the hope to avoid the splatter of tomatoes you may throw at me. 😉

Okay so here goes …

I’ve contracted Discovering Stella to Harlequin Books Australia! YAY! That means it, too, will sit on store shelves here in AU/NZ next to its book cousins: Temptation, Satisfaction, Fulfilment & Attainment, and Attraction. It also means that I will control the international rights to the book, as I do with the Temptation Series.

My main desire for Discovering Stella was for it to be available to as many Aussies as possible, being that it is an Australian story set in rural Victoria. In order to achieve this, the book needs to be on store shelves. I also adore working with my publisher and am absolutely thrilled they wanted to take on Stella and deliver her to you.

So what effect does this have on the release date? Well … a big one … a six month one, in fact. *closes one eye and prepares for tomato attack*  Yes, Discovering Stella will now be released in September 2015.

BUT WAIT! Wait! Whoa! Hang on to those tomatoes. To make it up to you, I’m now going to remove myself from civilisation and endeavour to get Revue written and ready in time for a May release. And I’m going to do what I hate doing, and subsequently advise other authors against, and that’s lock in a release date before I have finished writing it. I’m doing this so that you don’t lose faith in me and say “Yeah yeah, she says May. It will end up being June and so on. Yadda yadda yadda. Blah blah blaabity BLAAH.” I don’t want you to say that, sooooo lock in May 29th (AU) for the release date of Revue. And just in case you missed it, here’s the long and short synopsis. AND to sweeten my offer of compromise even more, Shannon Robinson will grace the cover. *gives you a wink wink, nudge nudge*

REVUE – Coming May 29, 2015

He was on a collision course.

… I had paved my way

He answered to no one.

… I respected authority

He wanted me.

… I despised him

He didn’t take no for an answer.

… NO!

“I don’t want nor deserve your debris.

It was you who crashed, not me.”

Okey dokey, that’s it! I must now disappear in a puff of smoke to work my literary magic and produce Revue in time for May 29. Oh, and keep an eye on my Facey profile and page for the cover reveal and Goodreads and Pre-order links, which will be available shortly.

ATTRACTION WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR NOOK, IBOOKS AND KOBO

Firstly, I need to apologise to all my Nook, iBooks and Kobo international readers who are still waiting for Attraction to become available in the Barnes and Noble, iTunes and Kobo stores. Please rest assured this WILL happen, and hopefully soon. I submit to these retailers via a third party, therefore it takes a little longer for the book to be made available. As soon as it becomes live at each store, I will post the links for you. Once again, thank you for being patient. xo

ATTRACTION’S EARLY RELEASE!

attraction_book-1024x864

Yes, it’s true! If you reside in the AU/NZ territory and pre-ordered Attraction on iBooks or Amazon, you would have woken this morning to find a hot and shirtless Derek sitting on your e-reader. (Well, metaphorically speaking, he wasn’t actually ‘sitting’ on your e-device) But anyway, you’re welcome 😉

That said, I was one of you; pleasantly surprised but also baffled, which was when panic set in and I became frantic in order to find out why Derek had come early. *Raises eyebrow then grins wickedly*

Where was I? Oh, that’s right frantic panic… So a quick email to my Harlequin editor extraordinaire revealed that the digital release was to coincide with the network in store date, which happened to be today. So… ta da, early release! This also means that the paperback version should be available in most QBD and Dymocks stores now, and in Target, K-Mart and Big W in the coming days. *Breathes a little easier… a little*

If you didn’t pre-order your copy, here are the iBooks and Amazon links:

iBooks: http://tinyurl.com/iBooksAU-Attraction

Amazon: http://tinyurl.com/AmazonAU-Attraction.

Now, for everyone else in the world, due to still holding the publishing rights for these territories, I had a pre-order set up for Amazon.com. I’m currently waiting to hear back from them to see if I can move the release from Oct 31st to asap. I’m not holding my breath, but fingers crossed. I’ll let you all know either way. This also applies to iBooks, Kobo and Barnes and Noble. As for the paperback format, you can order that NOW! Here is the link: http://tinyurl.com/Amazon-Attraction-PB

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS REGARDING THE RE-RELEASE OF THE TEMPTATION SERIES

It has been brought to my attention in recent times that the re-release of the Temptation Series here in Aussieland is somewhat confusing.
I can see why… sorry :/ It is for this reason that this blog post has been written. Hopefully, it will clarify things and answer some of the questions you may have.

Before I answer the questions I have received of late, I think it’s important to understand the publishing structure behind the series. So let me explain…
The Temptation Series is both self-published and traditionally published. Harlequin Books Australia acquired the rights to the series here in AU/NZ. I, on the other hand, still own the rights for the rest of the world.
As it stands right now, Harlequin are re-releasing the series to the Australian and New Zealand market. Fulfilment and Attainment will be released on September 1st and, when that happens, the entire world will be on par with what books are available.

So that’s pretty much the publishing structure. Harlequin handle AU/NZ, I handle the rest of the world. A little confusing? Yes… but not really, LOL.

I know the above explanation doesn’t answer all questions, so here are some of the more common ones I’ve recently received:

Q: Are the original versions and the new Aussie ones the same?
A: For the most part, yes. The Australian covers are obviously different from the originals, and the spelling of Fulfilment/Fulfillment differs due to American versus Australian English. However, apart from those two things, the only other difference is that Fulfilment and Attainment have been combined into the one book here in AU/NZ (aka Book 3 in The Temptation Series). This includes both paperback and digital formats.
The reason we decided to do it this way is because novellas aren’t as popular here in AUS and Attainment — being a novella — is a vital companion to the Brylexis story, therefore we didn’t want it being bypassed.
Attainment is not a repetition, nor is it a full continuation. Instead, my intention with Bryce’s novella was to fill in the gaps I purposely left in Fulfilment. My original plan was to post bonus chapters in Bryce’s POV to fill in these gaps. BUT… there are a wonderful bunch of Temptation Series fans out there that begged for a Bryce novella and, because of this, Attainment was born.

Q: Why the different price points?
A: I don’t have control over AU/NZ pricing. I do, however, have control internationally and try to keep them somewhat similar. They will fluctuate just slightly from time to time due to sales and promotions.

Q: Why can’t I pre-order Attraction outside of AU/NZ?
A: I am in the process of rectifying this and will have more information soon. Attraction will be released worldwide on November 1st.

Q: Can Attraction be read as a standalone?
A: Yes. Do I recommend you do this? Yes and no. If you plan to read books 1, 2, 3 and 3.5, I suggest you read them before picking up Attraction. If you don’t want to commit to a series, then yes, read it as a standalone. Carly and Derek’s story is very different to that of Bryce and Alexis and I hope it will be enjoyed either way.

Q: Is the Temptation Series going to be available in Audio format?
A: YES! I have just recently signed a contract with Tantor Media. At present, I don’t have release dates for the audio format. Watch this space though, as I will keep you all updated as soon as anything progresses.

If you have any questions in relation to the above, or queries I have not answered in this blog post, please use the contact form on the website. Alternatively, you can send me a tweet or PM via Facebook and I will endeavour to answer it as soon as possible.

Cheers

TROLLS BELONG UNDER A BRIDGE

Hmm… *steeples fingers*

Today I have been deliberating — on and off— whether or not to call someone out.  And just so you know, my decision not to do so in the end is not a reflection of the size of my ladyballs, but more so the limelight my calling out will give this moron. And let’s face it, said moron (IMO) deserves no limelight whatsoever. Not to mention that I’m normally one to just let sleeping dogs lie… and snore… and be ignorantly unaware of the dribble spilling from their mouth. <– Pun intended.

So instead, I’m going to have a rant. And this rant is in no way a reflection of receiving a bad review and then subsequently stomping my feet as a result. Bad reviews happen. All the time. And they are certainly not a new occurrence where I am concerned. They don’t hurt or discourage me in anyway shape or form. In fact, some bad reviews actually help bring to light things you may have overlooked during your creative process. Those bad reviews (IMO) are good reviews. Which is why I fully understand and grasp that they are part and parcel of publicising your work — a necessary evil of sorts.

So no, this rant is not me trying to stick it to a reviewer for her dislike of my novel. It’s more to do with how a negative review should be executed, and how a reviewer should show respect and decorum in their delivery.

I strongly believe that as individuals we are entitled to our own opinion — it’s one of the limited things in life we have complete control over. However, when you hold a position where your opinion is considered somewhat professional, you owe all involved a delivery of decency and not one which serves to discourage others from forming their own perspective. For if you do that, then you destroy the objective  of an opinion.

But as I said, I believe we are all entitled to our own views, especially where books are concerned. Why? Because it’s our prerogative, and because reading is subjective; what one person hates another may very well adore. And that’s a wonderful thing.

Let me just reiterate that the majority of reviewers I have come across adhere to the ‘proper’ principles of reviewing. They are honest, passionate, and project their opinions in an untroll-like manner. These particular reviewers are respected, and rightly so.

BUT… you do come across one every once in a while who likes to blow smoke up their own arse just for the shits and giggles of a pat on the back and a ‘you go girl’ response. Again, if that is the reason why they review, then more fool them. Seriously, get a life. One’s head can only expand so far before it explodes. BOOM!

It is one thing to dislike a book and then write up a melodramatic review that is all but missing a neon sign saying ‘Hey, I’m a troll hear me roar’, yet it is another to then bag the shit out of the book in the comments of the ‘professional’ (and I now use that term loosely where this particular reviewer is concerned) review you have written for a respected blog on social media.

All authors — whether traditionally published, indie, hybrid, NYT Best sellers, or newbies just testing the waters — have poured their hearts and souls into their writing. So whether you like their literary blood, sweat and tears or not, at least have the decency to project your opinion in a manner that is not only considered respectable but that serves the purpose of it being solely your humbled opinion. Surely that task is not too difficult.

ARE YOU MISSING OUT ON YOUR ULTIMATE ATTAINMENT?

Well, according to a few people of late, you very well could be.

It has been brought to my attention recently that a lot of you appear to be unaware of Attainment’s existence, Attainment being book 3.5 and the fourth release in the Temptation series.ARRA-button-reverse_200w-1
Attainment is a companion novella written in Bryce’s point of view. It is NOT a retelling of the first three books, but more so a continuation that fills in the gaps I purposefully left in Fulfillment. It is also the completion of Brylexis’ story and gives you a glimpse into their future.

For those outside of AU/NZ who have not yet found ‘Attainment’, you can find it at Amazon, iBookstore, Barnes & Noble and Kobo.
